Purchasing Manager

One of our clients in the FMCG sector is looking for a responsible Purchasing Manager who will be monitoring the local market and liaising between Head Office and the Purchasing Department in Italy in all related matters.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Assisting in management of products, in compliance with the company’s principles and standards when it comes to quality and procedures;
• Supporting the Purchasing Department in Malta and in Italy in the development of purchasing strategies;
• Assisting with the selection of new suppliers of food products;
• Supporting with the development of promotional activities and negotiations;
• Constant definition and control of selling prices;
• Monitor and analyse market trends;
• Supporting with the development of seasonal business;
• Constant communication with other departments and with the international purchasing team.

Requirements:

• Degree in Economics/Marketing would be considered an asset;
• Fluent in English language mandatory and fluency of Maltese language highly appreciated;
• Italian language knowledge would be considered an asset;
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel;
• Previous experience in a similar role of at least 2 years;
• Available for business trips even overseas.
