One of our clients is looking for an Architect to be their associate and handle diverse projects from conception to completion. If you are a professional with a passion for detail and commitment to deliver to the highest specifications and quality, then this is the right opportunity for you!

Main responsibilities:
  • Carrying out the duties of an Associate Architect including but not limited to concept design and feasibility, architectural design, construction drawings and specifications, master planning, design coordination, architectural and landscaping detailing works, supervision of works and certification, choosing materials, creating time schedules as well as other administrative matters relating to architecture;
  • Preparing and developing block plans, layout plans, elevations and cross-sections in architectural, planning and construction drawings
  • When needed, to assist with the preparation of valuation reports, including market research, area take-off, assessment of planning data and any necessary site inspections
  • Carrying out the duties of estimating costs relating to the properties being valued.
  • Supporting the Architectural team to ensure exemplary design deliverables, proposals and construction drawings, whilst encouraging creativity and design freedom within the team;
  • Undertaking works related to the Planning Authority (PA), liaising with the PA and other Authorities and organisations for planning consent and any other necessary associated permits and clearances, prepare and developing drawings and documents required for applications at the appropriate stages of each project;
  • Providing planning and permitting feedback and guidance on the basis of the Planning Authority policies and procedures;
  • Defining design and space planning problems, conceptualising possible solutions and securing approvals of proposals;
  • Preparing reports relating to planning procedures, project descriptions, and also regarding architectural components;
  • Preparing and developing area schedules for architectural projects and other related projects;
  • Preparing and developing apertures schedules or schedules relating to other architectural components, including developing product data sheets;
  • Developing presentations and/or presentation material, including 3D-modelling and visual imagery/renders for architectural projects.
  • Delivering presentations to clients and stakeholders as necessary;
  • Supporting with the development and updating of Architectural concepts and project briefs combining aesthetics with practical considerations, and maintaining the integrity of designs through robust change control and project processing techniques from conception to completion, ensuring a seamless document flow in the process;
  • Inspecting and delivering supervision services on project sites for architectural related projects to ensure compliance with contract documents for all architectural components, professional and company standards, health and safety, and codes of practice;
  • Preparing regular progress reports and any required meeting minutes;
  • Supporting the development of BIM in the Architecture department and the Company and participating in any training.

Requirements:
  • In possession of a recognised architectural degree or a related qualification in this field.
  • Having a solid understanding in local Planning Authority policies and procedures with a minimum of two years’ experience in this field;
  • Highly cognisant and abreast with all applicable standards, legislations and practices applicable to the construction industry in Malta;
  • A Perit warrant would be considered an asset;
  • A valid driving licence required;
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCad, REVIT and Microsoft Office;
  • Proactive approach to learning new software as may be required for particular design assignments;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Ability to work under pressure and to work closely with others in a multidisciplinary environment;
  • Attention to detail, influencing skills, assertiveness and the ability to understand and express technical concepts accurately with confidence and clarity;
  • Ability to anticipate project requirements and to manage multiple priorities while consistently achieving high standards and goals;
  • Proficient analytical skills and a measured approach to decision-making, being able to take decisions as and when needed in the interest of efficiency;
  • A motivated team player demonstrating an eager and positive work ethic.
