Customs Clearance Clerk

Are you ready to take your career to the next level in a dynamic environment? We are looking for a motivated Customs Clearance Clerk to join our client’s team! In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that all shipments meet customs regulations and provide exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare customs documentation for import and export shipments.
  • Calculate and process duties and taxes; arrange payments as necessary.
  • Issue NSO declarations per customer requests and maintain accurate NSO records.
  • Liaise with customers to understand their needs and provide timely updates.
  • Prepare import documentation, including certificates of origin and cargo control documents.
  • Collaborate with various agencies to facilitate customs and quarantine clearances.
  • Maintain organised filing systems for all documentation.
  • Manage transportation data entry in our Freight system and ensure accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues to address inquiries and resolve issues.
  • Execute errands in various authorities and departments as needed.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 12 months of hands-on experience in customs clearance.
  • Knowledgeable about local trailer operations and the intricacies of international transport.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills that foster clear and effective interactions.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.

Skills:
  • Time management and self-organisation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong customer care skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • IT knowledge and proficiency in Maltese and English; Italian is a plus.
