Health and Safety Officer

Our client is looking for a passionate and dedicated Health & Safety Officer to join its team and oversee Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) aspects across engineering and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide HSE supervision across projects, from design to implementation.
• Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and submit detailed reports.
• Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations (including the OHSA Act XXVII of 2000) and ISO standards.
• Deliver safety trainings, toolbox talks, and awareness briefings to site teams.
• Manage incident reporting and investigation processes.
• Act as the main point of contact during regulatory inspections.
• Review construction methodologies to ensure full HSE compliance.

• A recognized qualification in Health and Safety, with a specialization in the AEC industry. Applicants must hold, at a minimum, a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety awarded by the University of Malta or MCAST, or an equivalent qualification certified by MQRIC at Level 5 or higher in the field.
• Listed on the OHSA register of competent persons.
• Proven experience in HSE, particularly in the construction environment in Malta.
• Strong knowledge of both local and international HSE regulations.
• Valid driving license.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, decision-making ability, and a team player mindset.
