A great opportunity has arisen to work onboard cruise and river ships as a Cook.  The selected candidate is to prepare meals to the guests’ fullest satisfaction and ensure compliance with company’s standards and HACCP rules, as per Chef’s instructions and guidance. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assistance with preparation and cooking daily meals (including breakfast, lunch, tea-time and dinner) for crew and guests in accordance with Executive Chef Manual and menu cycle and recipes
  • Handle all food items and galley equipment with care
  • Separation and disposal of waste / garbage
  • Conduction of stock takes; inventory according to company procedures
  • Preparation and assisting in the opening and closing ships at start and end of season
  • Assistance in other departments upon instruction from supervisors (if required)
  • Performance according to company standards and HACCP rules
  • Participation in loadings
  • Correct storage of stock; establishing of par levels
  • Active participation in onboard training programs  
  • Ensure food safety, highest level of cleanliness in the galley and production areas at all times in accordance with company’s standards and HACCP procedures
  • Assisting the Chefs in ordering food supplies in accordance with the budget and production planning
  • Conduct and appearance in accordance with the rules and regulations of the company
  • Outstanding flexibility: must be able to work during different times of the day, under pressure and focused at all times
  • Be fully proficient and knowledgeable about all relevant recipes and menu cycles
  • Aware of functions and events on board and relevant requirements
  • Become knowledgeable about itinerary-related ports of call
  • Full knowledge of the daily program
  • Full knowledge of safety and security procedures
  • Participation in all training concerning safety and security, fire prevention, evacuation exercises as required by the company

  • Fluent command of English
  • Preferable work experience on passenger ships or in a 4- or 5-star hotel/resort, restaurant
  • COVID-19 vaccine
