Department Store Shop Assistants (Must be in Malta / EU National)

Our clients, one of Malta’s largest home improvement centres, is looking for full-time Department Store Shop Assistants to join their sales team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Takes care of general shop floor, organise sections by cleaning and keeping all shelves stocked optimally
  • Recommends changes in products based on client requirements and feedback.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting feedback and suggestions
  • Responsible for maintaining excellent customer relations
  • Provide an overall friendly environment for both customers and fellow colleagues
  • Resolves customer requirements by understanding their needs and matching the right items to these needs
  • Offering customers alternatives if an item wanted is not available and up-selling when possible
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by taking initiative to find out about products on sale in all departments.
  • Being flexible when required to work in other areas of the Shop floor. 
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing Company targets and goals as needed.

Person Specification:

  • Be IT Literate
  • Fluent in English
  • Have a friendly and positive attitude
  • Able to work on shift basis to cover opening hours of the shop
  • Flexible to move between different outlets if necessary (current store in in central Malta – new outlets scheduled to open next year: Mosta, Zejtun and Kalkara (Smary City)
  • Past experience in a retail environment would be considered an asset
  • Be a team player
