Field Commissioning Technician (BMS) 
 
One of our clients is looking for a Field Commissioning Technician to support their building automation sector.  The Technician will be responsible for the onsite testing and commissioning of various field devices and systems pertaining to BMS as well as HVAC systems and Plant Utilities. 
  
Main duties and responsibilities: 

  • Execute site testing and commissioning activities for BMS Equipment, various field devices and systems in order for the proper operation of each, fulfilling the functional design specification. 
  • Troubleshoot and solve any issues encountered during such activities. 
  • Maintain regular communication with the sector Lead, providing daily updates on work progress. 
  • Adhere to the established schedule set by the sector Lead. 
  • Adhere to and abide by Health and Safety procedures for safe work practices as set out by the company procedures. 
  • Keep cleanliness and housekeeping within designated areas of operations. 
  • Manage documentation tasks related to official progress reporting to the Sector Lead. 
  • Support the Sector Lead, or team leader in planning and scheduling activities. 
  • Collaborate and establish effective working relationships with stakeholders, external parties, and clients as necessary. 
  • Ensure daily the Sector Lead targets are achieved and proactively address any issues that may impede progress. 
  • Inputs various data and records into specific technical documents, using existing or new procedures. 
  • Flexible to undertake such other related duties as directed by the Sector lead. 

  
  
Requirements: 

  • Possess a minimum of a diploma (Level 4)  in Electronic Engineering Technology or equivalent qualifications. 
  • Be computer literate, preferably with an ECDL certificate or working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite 
  • Demonstrated experience of at least 2 years in BMS/HVAC/Plant utilities, Testing and Commissiong or maintenance roles in the related fields. 
  • Proficiency and comprehensive understanding of instrumentation in HVAC control systems, including AHU, Chillers, FCU, Room control, etc. 
  • Fluent in English and good communication skills. 
  • Must possess a valid driving licence.    
  • Competence in using software tools for commissioning BACnet and Modbus systems. 
  • Proficient in the use of BMS instruments for testing and validation, such as multi-meters, temperature and RH meters, CO2 meters, etc. 
  • Good organisation and documentation skills. 
  • Exhibit essential team player qualities, including cooperation, punctuality, a positive attitude, respectfulness, meticulous attention to detail and a willingness to learn 

  
Knowledge and/or experience on the following would be considered as an asset (in order of priority): 

  • Use of SIEMENS SI  PXC controllers product Family (PXC4/PXC5 / PXC7), and Desigo engineering framework including Desigo CC,  
  • Familiarity with SCADA software and PLC programming 
  • Immediate availability for work is preferred.
