Head Chef – Must be in Malta or EU Citizen
One of our clients, a high end restaurant in Malta, is looking for a Head Chef. A phenomenal opportunity for a chef to have creative freedom on menu design using the best ingredients available on the market. Working on menu ideas you will be at the helm of an incredibly designed and stunning kitchen.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the running and overseeing all sections in the kitchen operation
- Managing and mentoring the kitchen brigade
- Maintaining a clean work environment in order to prevent food contamination
- Undertaking regular inventory checks of food supplies
- Managing all restaurant outlets
- Ensuring Brand standards are maintained
- Ensuring all food operations are current and on trend
- Ensuring dishes are of a high standard before they reach the customer
- Communicating to ensure all aspects of the Food service are met and surpassed
Person Specification:
- Proven experience as head chef
- Classical cooking knowledge and respect for seasonality + modern techniques
- Very high knowledge of cooking and ability to train team to that standard
- Passion for cooking and menu design
- Solid business acumen for costing of dishes and management of GP and Labor budget
- Have good oral communication skills
- Have team management skills
- Have a high level of attention to detail
- Have a good level of numeracy – remove
- Have a good knowledge of P&L – remove
- Have enthusiasm to develop your own skills and knowledge
- Are adaptable to change and have the willingness to embrace new ideas and processes
