Plant Engineer (Located in Malta)
One of our clients is currently seeking a Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing various engineering aspects of the plant, ensuring its reliability, safety, and productivity. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and process engineering principles, as well as exceptional problem-solving abilities to address complex operational challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to develop and execute comprehensive maintenance programs for equipment, machinery, and infrastructure. Identify and prioritize maintenance needs to minimize downtime and optimize plant performance.
- Continuously evaluate plant processes and workflows to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost reduction, and enhanced productivity. Implement solutions to optimize energy consumption, reduce waste, and streamline operations.
- Manage the lifecycle of plant equipment, from selection and installation to troubleshooting, repair, and replacement. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all equipment-related activities.
- Lead engineering projects aimed at upgrading, expanding, or modifying plant facilities. Develop project plans, oversee budgets, coordinate resources, and ensure timely completion while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Champion a culture of safety by promoting best practices, conducting regular safety audits, and implementing measures to prevent accidents or hazardous incidents. Ensure compliance with regulations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in plant engineering, offering guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative practices relevant to plant operations.
- Utilize data-driven insights to monitor key performance indicators, track equipment reliability, and assess the effectiveness of process improvements. Generate regular reports for management, highlighting achievements and areas for further enhancement.
- Develop and implement emergency response protocols to address unexpected breakdowns, power outages, and other critical incidents. Collaborate with relevant teams to swiftly resolve issues and minimize disruptions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.
- Proven experience (3 years) in plant engineering or related roles within an industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and process control.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools for design, simulation, and analysis.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and protocols within an industrial environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for cross-functional collaboration.
