transformational projects in various countries such as Malta, Kiev, Brussels, Prague, Africa and others. They are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their professional team.

Main responsibilities:
  • Working on a full-time basis, the chosen candidate will primarily be responsible for:
  • Carrying out the duties of a quantity surveyor including but not limited to bills of quantities, tender evaluations, contract management, assessment of variations, close out of project finances and other responsibilities attached to a role of this kind;
  • Recommending improved cost and commercial management and quantity surveying systems to the team and the Company;
  • Supporting all project aspects in relation to the department, including coordinating works with clients, other members of staff and other consultants;
  • Ensuring project Quality Assurance confirmed with feedback from clients throughout the lifecycle of projects, while implementing the necessary rectifications when needed to ensure quality standards are achieved;
  • Meeting and liaising with Clients and Professional Teams to assist with determining clients’ requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with local, national and international health and safety and construction/industry regulations and standards;
  • Compiling reports as needed and as requested by the Senior Partner;
  • Costing building projects at all stages from planning to completion;
  • Estimating quantities and costs of materials for various projects;
  • Assisting the Project / Commercial Manager in the upkeep of records and issue to the client.
  • Preparing and monitoring project cash flow;
  • Procurement and vetting of contractor quotations and packages, assisting the Senior Partner with advising clients on preferred procurement routes, costs and cash flow;
  • Carrying out monthly verifications of application for payments and issuing accurate corresponding payment certifications / valuations (interim payment certificates);
  • Carrying out cost forecasting, reviewing, monitoring and reporting;
  • Measuring, valuing and submitting variations when and as needed;
  • Preparing, submitting and negotiating project final accounts;
  • Managing and approving subcontractor monthly valuations and final accounts;
  • Monitoring and controlling costs during the pre-contract stages;
  • Preparing tender and contractual documentation, leading to tender selection and appraisal;
  • Developing and maintaining cost plans and the cash flow forecasts;
  • Inspecting project sites at various stages of the project to ensure compliance with contract documents, professional and company standards, health and safety, and codes of practice;
Requirements:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Engineering with quantity surveying specialisation and/or a recognized professional qualification in this field with several years’ experience;
  • Preferably be a member of the RICS or have other satisfactory/equivalent membership;
  • A proven track record working as a quantity surveyor in various projects on a large scale,
  • Highly cognizant and abreast with all applicable standards, legislations and practices applicable to the construction industry in Malta;
  • A valid driving licence required to carry out site visits, valuations, bills of quantities and surveys;
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCad, and Microsoft Office. Proficiency in BIM and/or other related design systems would be considered an asset;
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Ability to work under pressure and to work closely with others in a multidisciplinary environment;
  • Attention to detail, assertiveness and the ability to understand and express technical concepts accurately with confidence and clarity;
  • Proficient analytical skills and a measured approach to decision-making, being able to take decisions as and when needed in the interest of efficiency;
  • Demonstrate resilience, leadership and negotiation skills;
  • A motivated team player demonstrating an eager and positive work ethic.
