Risk Manager

Risk Manager (Applicant must be in Malta or an EU Citizen)
One of our clients, a manufacturer of a wide range of soft drinks across Malta, is seeking to employ a ‘Risk Manager’ on a full-time basis. S/he will be responsible for detecting, scrutinising, and managing all possible risks that may affect the company’s financial success.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Identify and evaluate internal risks and mitigation plans; update risk register for regular review; evaluate and align risks to strategy
- Oversee risk management systems, strategies, and culture to ensure principal risks and opportunities are identified and managed
- Work together with the finance team to calculate all risks related to business and transaction proposals
- Identify the financial risk of the company and offer recommendations to reduce risk
- Identify accounting and financial record-keeping processes that can be improved
- Act as a first line of defence to ensure compliance with internal governance and perform gap analysis
- Assess the efficiency and productivity of internal staff and make recommendations for improvement
- Determine ways to cut costs and improve profitability
- Present findings to senior management in the form of reports and presentations
- Conduct statistical analysis for proper risk assessment and analysis
- Formulate contingency plans for the Company
- Review aggregated and escalated risks against broader Company objectives and ensure effective risk mitigation strategies are in place; identify and evaluate emerging risks, prepare a strategic risk opportunity summary for senior management and audit & risk committee
- Anticipate and analyse prevailing market trends at different points in time
- Formulate regular updates on strategic and emerging risk
Person Specification:
- Bachelor’s degree in related fields, like economics, finance, and business
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant industry with a strong financial background
- Good and highly productive team interaction
- Excellent understanding of Maltese financial regulations
- Excellent skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office packages
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent communication skills
