One of our clients in the hospitality industry is looking for a team of professionals to be part of their latest expansion and upcoming project in Malta. They would like a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of construction projects. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of contractual matters, site measurements, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Your expertise will help ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct accurate and detailed site measurements
- Verify quantities and dimensions of materials and work completed
- Collaborate with site teams to ensure measurements align with project specifications
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects
- Monitor and control project budgets, providing regular cost reports to stakeholders
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
- Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
- Maintain accurate records of project changes and variations
- Assist in claims management and dispute resolution
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure that work is completed to the required quality standards
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality of work
- Prepare regular reports on project cost performance for management and clients
- Provide financial forecasting and cost projections
- Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors
- Coordinate with other departments and external stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior role
- Professional membership with a relevant organization (e.g., RICS, AIQS)
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and relevant industry standards
- Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
