Assistant Financial Controller

One of our esteemed clients in the hospitality sector is looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to be part of a team of professionals who assist in the financial strategy and operations of their hotels.

The main duties and responsibilities are:

Preparing monthly management statements on time to allow the review of the company’s financial performance.
Actively leading the preparation of the yearly budget and regular forecasts together with other Department Heads
Preparing cash flow and any other reports as may be required by management from time to time.
Preparing and submitting VAT Returns
Working with other Departments to prepare and interpret financial information relative to upcoming and existing projects or business opportunities.
Upholding the internal and financial control environment of the Company
Acting as the first line of contact of the external auditors to ensure a prompt and accurate preparation of the statutory audit.
Supporting the accounts staff in the daily monitoring of cash settlements and accounts receivables, as necessary.
Ensuring the timely monitoring of debtors, credit control and effective reporting to Senior Management as required.
Supervising the Finance Department personnel in line with companies policies and procedures, accounting standards and fiscal requirements.
Proposing policies and procedures to work in a more efficient manner and in line with company’s standards.
Managing and motivating the members of the Finance Department on a continuous basis in line with the company culture.
Carrying out any other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the Financial Controller and Group CFO.

Requirements:

Experience in a similar position, it would be an asset if experience is in the hospitality industry.
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
Able to manage and guide employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used;
A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles;
Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations;
BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics or ACCA.
