Household and Industrial Maintenance Technician

CANDIDATES MUST BE IN MALTA

One of our clients is looking for a Household and Industrial Maintenance Technician, also known as a Maintenance Worker or Handyman, is responsible for the upkeep and repair of residential and Industrial properties. They handle a wide range of tasks to ensure that homes and general Industry are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.

Key Responsibilities:

General Maintenance and Repairs:

Conduct routine inspections and identify areas in need of repair or maintenance.
Perform basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs.
Fix or replace appliances, fixtures, and hardware.

Carpentry and Woodworking:

Repair or replace damaged doors, windows, cabinets, and furniture.
Install or repair flooring, tiles, and other surfaces.
Construct or assemble structures as required.

Plumbing:

Diagnose and repair plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and faulty fixtures.
Install or replace pipes, fittings, and fixtures.

Electrical Work:

Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems.
Install or replace switches, outlets, light fixtures, and circuits.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Painting and Finishing:

Prepare surfaces for painting, including patching holes and cracks.
Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes as needed.
Maintain a clean and organised work area.

Landscaping and Outdoor Maintenance:

Perform basic landscaping tasks such as lawn care, tree and shrub maintenance.
Clean gutters, remove debris, and ensure proper drainage.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant safety regulations and guidelines.
Identify and report potential hazards or code violations.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs and replacements.
Generate reports as required by supervisors or property owners.
Liaise with Finance Department to Issue Relevant Invoice.

Qualifications:

Preferable diploma or equivalent or higher; additional technical education or certification in mechanical or electrical fields is preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment issues.
Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Proficiency in using computer software for documentation and reporting.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, to support maintenance needs.
