Assistant Financial Controller
One of our esteemed clients in the hospitality sector is looking for an Assistant Financial Controller to be part of a team of professionals who assist in the financial strategy and operations of their hotels.
The main duties and responsibilities are:
- Preparing monthly management statements on time to allow the review of the company’s financial performance.
- Actively leading the preparation of the yearly budget and regular forecasts together with other Department Heads
- Preparing cash flow and any other reports as may be required by management from time to time.
- Preparing and submitting VAT Returns
- Working with other Departments to prepare and interpret financial information relative to upcoming and existing projects or business opportunities.
- Upholding the internal and financial control environment of the Company
- Acting as the first line of contact of the external auditors to ensure a prompt and accurate preparation of the statutory audit.
- Supporting the accounts staff in the daily monitoring of cash settlements and accounts receivables, as necessary.
- Ensuring the timely monitoring of debtors, credit control and effective reporting to Senior Management as required.
- Supervising the Finance Department personnel in line with companies policies and procedures, accounting standards and fiscal requirements.
- Proposing policies and procedures to work in a more efficient manner and in line with company’s standards.
- Managing and motivating the members of the Finance Department on a continuous basis in line with the company culture.
- Carrying out any other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the Financial Controller and Group CFO.
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar position, it would be an asset if experience is in the hospitality industry.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
- Able to manage and guide employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used;
- A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles;
- Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations;
- BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics or ACCA.
