Household and Industrial Maintenance Technician

One of our clients is looking for a Household and Industrial Maintenance Technician, also known as a Maintenance Worker or Handyman, is responsible for the upkeep and repair of residential and Industrial properties. They handle a wide range of tasks to ensure that homes and general Industry are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing.
 

Key Responsibilities:

General Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Conduct routine inspections and identify areas in need of repair or maintenance.
  • Perform basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs.
  • Fix or replace appliances, fixtures, and hardware.

Carpentry and Woodworking:

  • Repair or replace damaged doors, windows, cabinets, and furniture.
  • Install or repair flooring, tiles, and other surfaces.
  • Construct or assemble structures as required.

Plumbing:

  • Diagnose and repair plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and faulty fixtures.
  • Install or replace pipes, fittings, and fixtures.

Electrical Work:

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical problems.
  • Install or replace switches, outlets, light fixtures, and circuits.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. 

Painting and Finishing:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting, including patching holes and cracks.
  • Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.

Landscaping and Outdoor Maintenance:

  • Perform basic landscaping tasks such as lawn care, tree and shrub maintenance.
  • Clean gutters, remove debris, and ensure proper drainage. 

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Identify and report potential hazards or code violations. 

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs and replacements.
  • Generate reports as required by supervisors or property owners.
  • Liaise with Finance Department to Issue Relevant Invoice.

Qualifications:

  • Preferable diploma or equivalent or higher; additional technical education or certification in mechanical or electrical fields is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment issues.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer software for documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, to support maintenance needs.

Reporting Structure:
