We are actively seeking individuals with expertise in the oil market and marine fuel pricing strategies to join our team as Oil Traders. Based in our Malta office, you will play a pivotal role in energy trading within the maritime shipping industry. Your primary mission will be to monitor market conditions, execute trades, manage risks, and cultivate strong relationships with industry partners. 
 
Responsibilities: 
 
Market Analysis and Trading Execution: 

• Stay informed about market conditions and price fluctuations to develop and execute fuel oil trading strategies. 
• Identify and manage risks associated with fuel oil trading activities. 
• Assist in placing orders, confirming trades, and ensuring accurate documentation throughout transactions. 
• Oversee logistical aspects of trades, coordinating shipping arrangements and ensuring documentation compliance. 

 
Supplier Relations and Contract Negotiation: 

• Establish and maintain relationships with fuel oil suppliers, refineries, and partners. 
• Negotiate favourable terms in supply contracts to maximise profitability and support business objectives. 
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure trading activities align with company goals. 

 
Reporting and Compliance: 

• Prepare accurate and timely reports on trading activities, market trends, and performance metrics. 
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of trades and transactions for audit and compliance purposes. 

 
Qualifications & Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field. 
• Minimum 6-7+ years’ experience as an Oil Trader specializing in Oil & Petroleum Commodities. 
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in interpreting market data. 
• Deep understanding of commodity markets, including supply chain dynamics and risk management practices. 
• Proficiency in trading platforms and systems. 
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic trading environment. 
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken); proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
