Purchasing Officer

As a Purchasing Officer in the automotive sector, you will play a vital role in procuring goods and services necessary for the operations of automotive vehicles and components for my client. Your expertise in procurement processes, supplier management, and industry regulations will be instrumental in driving efficiency and achieving the organisation’s strategic objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with operational, quality assurance teams to understand their procurement requirements for automotive components, materials, and services.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and vendors of automotive parts, raw materials, and equipment, evaluating their capabilities, quality standards, and pricing.
• Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluations, regular meetings, and resolution of any issues or disputes to maintain a reliable and efficient supply chain.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimise costs, reduce lead times, and mitigate supply chain risks for critical automotive components and materials.
• Prepare and analyse procurement reports, including cost-saving initiatives, supplier performance metrics, and purchasing trends, to support decision-making and strategic planning.

Qualifications:

• A recognised degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field; an advanced degree or certification is a plus.
• Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or purchasing roles, with a strong understanding of the automotive industry.
